From Innovation to Impact
Learn how ADAR transformed an idea into a global solution for sustainability
ADAR Technologies is dedicated to transforming waste into valuable resources through cutting-edge acoustic dehydration technology. Our mission is to revolutionize waste processing by providing a sustainable, energy-efficient, and scalable solution that reduces environmental impact while unlocking new economic opportunities.
The ADAR Difference
At a high level, ADAR’s efficiency advantage comes from fundamentally changing how energy is transferred during drying. Conventional industrial drying relies on thermal energy to evaporate moisture—a process the U.S. Department of Energy notes can account for 10–25% of total industrial energy consumption. Most of that energy is wasted heating air and equipment mass rather than the water molecules themselves.
Essentially, ADAR isn't just an incremental efficiency improvement; it removes thermal dependency at the process layer. This makes the technology structurally disruptive rather than marginally better, offering a unique combination of lower energy intensity and higher-value outputs.
The core innovation of ADAR’s ADS technology is the shift from thermal energy to resonance-driven energy transfer. While traditional drying relies on extreme heat to evaporate moisture—a process that is energy-intensive and often degrades the organic material—our system uses acoustic shockwaves to mechanically separate water from solids at a cellular level.
Key Advantages of This Shift:
Preservation of Nutrient Value: Because our process is non-thermal, we avoid the "thermal degradation" that typically kills proteins, enzymes, and bioactive compounds. This allows us to maintain the full nutritional profile of the feedstock, which is vital when converting waste into high-value products like livestock feed or specialized fertilizers.
Energy & Cost Efficiency: We eliminate the need for fossil fuels or massive heating elements. By using mechanical resonance, we achieve up to ~70% energy and cost savings compared to traditional rotary dryers. This is a direct win for both the bottom line and the planet.
Environmental & Social Impact: Our process produces zero emissions and completely eliminates odors and bacteria without the use of chemicals. It’s a cleaner, faster way to stabilize waste before it can release methane in a landfill.
There is extensive publicly available research supporting the concept of acoustic-assisted drying and non-thermal moisture removal. Academic and industrial studies on “ultrasound-assisted drying,” “acoustic wave dewatering,” and “non-thermal dehydration methods” consistently demonstrate:
Reduced drying time
Lower energy consumption compared to hot air systems
Improved material integrity due to reduced thermal exposure
While most published research focuses on ultrasound frequencies at lab scale, ADAR’s innovation is the controlled industrial-scale application of resonance-driven energy transfer optimized for throughput and efficiency.

From Prototype to Production Level
Our story began in 2022 when we realized the pressing need for a sustainable solution to process and dry animal manure, which had become a big ecological and economical problem. We knew that traditional drying methods were not only capital intense, but also had a big CO2 footprint. We wanted to change that.
In 2024, we built our prototype which is currently being optimized in The Netherlands. We quickly realized that the potential for our technology extended beyond just animal manure. There were comparable problems with sludges from ports, sewage, waste water, and even with large amounts of fresh produce that were never consumed as they could not be dried in time and therefore rotted away. We saw an opportunity to make a difference.
Our team worked tirelessly to create a solution that not only addressed these problems but also reduced the carbon footprint of waste remediation. Unlike traditional drying methods, we do not only evaporate moisture, but by mechanically extracting it, we need only 20% of the energy that traditional drying methods consume, and only using electricity. We do not use any chemicals, fossil fuels, or produce any carbon emissions. This allows our customers to create organic products, significantly lower their utility costs, and lower their carbon impact score while also creating carbon credits.
Our first prototype was made from used and scrap components put together with duct tape. But to our surprise, the principle worked well, even without optimized parts.
Together with various focus groups and interested companies, we designed a professional unit that has been tested for two years with many materials, varying from rock, eggs, shellfish, corn, biomass, woodchips, glass, pig manure, sludges, avocado cores, and many others.
Our Generation 3 ADS prototype (pictured above) was a research and development machine used to test 70+ materials.
Our Generation 4 ADS (pictured above) was built in Q4 2024.
